Welcome to the Notanotherdragaccount BLOG!

I have been debating creating a blog to go with my drag page for quite some time now. I have always thoroughly enjoyed writing, and there's never enough space & time to write out what I want to write out in a little instagram story or underneath a photo that I post. 

So I decided to create this! Here you will find all sorts of shenanigans & bafoonery like my thoughts, ideas and reactions to all sorts of things drag/drag race related. My goal is to go out more (even though I'm insanely introverted) and do reviews of local drag shows. And no, I don't mean big drag race tours that roll through where the tickets are more than my car payment; I mean actual local drag shows. I want to explore what my town has to offer. I will also post drag music playlists, little things here and there about me, ode's to my favorite drag superstars and much more!  If there's any suggestions on what I should write about; I'd also love to hear that from ya'll! 

The first little bit is going to be an about me!  (nothing super long...don't worry; I'm not that fascinating)

1) My name is Kelsey, I truly am almost 30 (gag) and yes if you're like 12 and you get to do meet and greets every weekend because your parents pay for it; I probably won't like you. Unless you buy me a ticket too; then we can be BFF!

2) I think I skipped the generation that needed to label and define who they were, and who they were attracted to. I used to think it wasn't necessary but I was wrong. I understand that labels play a huge role in helping a person come to terms with who they are and it can be an incredibly empowering thing! When it comes to me, I haven't identified with any kind of "label" yet. I know who I am and I know who I like and right now; I'm choosing not to label it. (If you have any specific questions about gender identity and sexual orientation, feel free to message me about it!)

3) I was married to a man for 6 years (legally, I still am; ew) but I am single. 

4) I live in the USA on the west coast. I lived in Liverpool for 2 years and I consider that my second home. 

5) I have a bachelors/undergraduate degree in special education and I am currently a special education teachers assistant.

6) Hobbies other than drag = reading, writing, art, soccer (wooooo Manchester United!) hiking & exploring, traveling, cooking & baking and making killer music playlists- I'm kind of a big deal when it comes to my playlists so, you know. 

7) I'm incredibly introverted & shy. I prefer to be alone most all the time. I have depression, anxiety and PTSD. 

8) My music and movie taste is so strange and disjointed (which is very...on brand for me). I love Harry Potter and bobs burgers and old musicals with Judy garland & Gene Kelly and hardcore and metal music and Jane Austen and old poetry and romance novels and Law and Order SVU and EDM music and art history textbooks and jurassic park and Star Wars and  and I really, REALLY love pop music and see? Strange and disjointed- but totally me.

9) I've never broken a bone, I've had braces but never wore my retainer, I was a very devout christian until a few years ago, I see a therapist once a week, I was teased every year of school until I graduated, I recently fell in love with my best friend, I am not a pet person (love animals, just don't want them as pets), I have scoliosis, I've never had stitches but I should have multiple times (I am a big, fat clumsy oaf), I am a terrible speller and I am even worse at math, my eyebrows have always been awful and I blame Paris and Britney for the thin eyebrow trend of 2001, I have 7 tattoos and if I wasn't so poor I'd probably pull a Katya and get 21 new ones in a week, I can't save money to save my life, I don't ever want children, I'm obsessed with Christmas, I can't watch scary movies, I am not a morning person and I never will be, I'm a tea snob & coffee makes me too jittery, and I really REALLY hate the isle seat on planes.
